BSc (Hons) Construction Commercial Management. 18 years experience in construction industry as Bid Manager/Quantity Surveyor.

What is your favourite childhood memory?
I was lucky enough to grow up in West Cornwall, so lots of time spent on the sea!
What’s your idea of a fun entertaining weekend?
A weekend in the moutains on bikes or skis, with great food and beer.
Share your favourite movie and favourite song.

A Good Year. One Song!? OK – The Tourist by Radiohead.

What is the favourite piece of technology that you own?

Filter coffee machine with a timer (real answer – my iPhone).

Does technology simplify life or make it more complicated?

More complicated – see social media.

What is the best thing about your work?

Going back to see our lovely clients year after year and seeing how their R&D benefits their business.

If you could change one thing about the R&D scheme what would it be?

I would simplify the way the rules are published and explained. They aren’t particularly accessible.

Which is the one technology that has made the world a better place?

The camera. Or the radio (I’m a R5Live addict).

Which technology, that does not exist, would you like to see invented & why?

Something which can transform all types of plastic into a useful, reusable material.
